Paratransit Trip Data Collection System with Smartphone GPS and REST Web Service in Malang, Indonesia

Paratransit in Malang has its own irregular characteristics, same as other cities the world. It is tough to recognize exact operational time, availability, and estimated travel time when using paratransit. The information about paratransit can be only obtained by making predictions due characteristics. This research examined importance of a system that collect data basis for predictions. Therefore, this proposes design collection utilizing smartphone GPS REST web service. To determine position paratransit, researchers used concept circle-based geofencing which called pseudo-stop. initial results from experiment indicated influence tracking intervals radius pseudo-stop on effectiveness efficiency system. shorter interval, higher tendency value decrease, resulting decreased increased efficiency. Otherwise, wider greater, In spite periodically accessing location providers, energy usage quite low.
